The Blog is Back!
I’ve decided to take the blogging in a new direction. I took the beginning of 2008 off from blogging because I’ve been rethinking how to approach my writing, and I’ve decided that while I will continue to share personal accomplishments with you, I will begin to focus more heavily on observing and commenting on the movie and music industries as a whole. Today, no surprise, I’ve decided to open up discussion on the WGA strike that ended just a few days ago. I have been hearing lots of arguments back and forth lately about whether or not the strike accomplished its goals. Personally, it sure seems that, if anything, symbolic strides were made. I don’t pretend to know the ins and outs of the negotiation, but from the point of view of someone who is keenly aware of the amount of acting/productions that now go either directly to internet, or will eventually land there, I definitely see the importance of securing a piece of those residuals, and that’s just the beginning. Anyway, I’m curious to find out what others have to say about the strike, the players, and pros and cons. Here are some articles and information to get you thinking. Let me know your thoughts!
