The Bewitching Hour

October 31st, 2007

It’s over! I love Halloween, but for the second year in a row I missed the Halloween parade. How can I live in NY and never see the Halloween parade?! Last year I had my Improv 101 class at UCB. This year it just so happens that I was offered a Voiceover job that was lots of fun to do. In the long run, I’m pretty confident choosing the Voiceover over the parade was smart especially considering I didn’t have a costume picked out. I mean I put off costume selection for so long that it was too late to put anything decent together. But back to the Voiceover. It turns out Voiceover is my new niche. While I was recording today, I got a message from the agent I freelance with saying that I have an audition for voiceover tomorrow and that I was “specifically requested” by the client. Ooooh. Someone’s making a name for herself with her “rich and chocolatey” voice. Basically, next time we have a conversation you better cherish it because these vocal chords are worth your weight in gold! ;-)

By the way, for you Improv lovers out there, you should know that my 401 class ended on Tuesday. It felt like the end of an era. Now comes the waiting period where I find out if I make it into 501. I really hope to perform on a Harold Team someday at UCB so even if I don’t make it into 501 just yet, I’m going to stick with it and keep going to as many shows as possible. In fact, I’m thinking about starting Sketch too.

Ay, it’s midnight. The bewitching hour. Time for bed.
