Marathon Week

October 29th, 2007

So I’m working with a double entendre here. Indeed this week IS NYC Marathon week. Literally. The fever is here. Well, at least in our home it is. I’m sure many of you out there are thinking- Marathon week? This is BBQ at Tracy’s weekend, or Sisi’s birthday weekend, or the sale at Lowe’s weekend… Whatever the the case may be, in NYC it’s Marathon AND Olympic Trials weekend. Yes, I know, you don’t think running is a spectator sport. I understand the logic, but I promise if you join in the festivities you will change your mind. In fact, I bet you will even think to yourself- This doesn’t look so bad. I mean, sure the runners are in pain. But so what? They are so excited to be doing this. They are so proud of themselves. I can do it too!!!. If you still don’t believe me, then stay tuned to Fountain of Youth Productions because correspondants Richie and Ale will be at the marathon this weekend covering the Olympic trials on Saturday, the NYC Marathon on Sunday, and the ensuing festivities. Stay tuned for more marathon fever!

The double entendre, you ask? Ah, you see today also ends what was personally a marathon week for me. A work marathon that is. I had so much going on that I stopped exercising which only added to my fatigue I think. I recorded voiceover work in Staten Island for a film I did back in April called Chameleon, worked my last three shifts ever at the cafe (with only about 5 hours off between the last two), and squeezed in three auditions up at Columbia. All this on about 12 hours of sleep and I not one of those people in the world that functions well on no sleep. I’m an 8er, meaning I need my 8 hours every time. So last night after my final commitment I completely crashed and burned, passing out on my bed at about 6pm, and it felt so good. This week is going to be infinitely more manageable. I have an equity audition tomorrow- yay! FOYProductions is getting back on track with our meetings, and I’m putting some finishing touches on the Angel Pilot before we go into production meetings with it next week. So, yeah, it’s a good day.
